Good morning

  • Jun. 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 AM

Morning. Woke to dark skies and thunder. Purrrrrr....
A good sign, if you ask me.
That Addams family side of me that revels in dark, turbulent weather is, of course, thrilled!
It almost immediately started to pour when I went downstairs for my coffee.
Who says getting up at 6:30 has to be awful.
If you had asked me a couple years back if I thought I'd be able to get through getting
up this early every morning... I remember I used to have tantrums years back
when I had to get up at this hour to work as a ward secretary at a hospital.
Of course, I would say I enjoy what I do now better...

Haven't had much of a chance to blog.
It seems every moment from waking to lie down is taken; accounted for.
I'm that kind of busy.
The frantic, multi-tasking, headache-y, insane kind of busy.
Deadlines, the bosses send over a dozen e-mails a day(easily),
and the final push is on to get a major project launched at work on Friday.
Which I find I am shockingly well prepared for.

In my last entry I mentioned clouds of bees.
What happened was....
I was sitting on the deck with a friend when we heard a humming sound,
looked up and saw a huge tornado cloud of hundreds and hundreds of bees,
all hovering in my back yard. My friend panicked and ran inside,
but I had to sit, mesmerized while the whole biblical mess slowly flew
to the neighbors' and wound up in a tree.
Filled the whole tree, one of those monumentally old pines,
from trunk to tip. Everywhere, hundreds of bees.
It was bizarre, to say the least.
At first, I thought it seemed fun, like a Winnie The Pooh bee cloud,
out to get someone for rustling their honey.
Then, after 15 minutes and them not dissipating,
and obviously never having seen anything like it,
it came to seem more 'horror film'.
I could see the title - 'SWARM!'.
I'm certain if that cloud had descended they could easily kill a person or two
in moments with all those stings.
The neighbor with the bee tree has several dogs, and I began to worry
he'd let them out and the bees would carry them off.
(I wish, actually. These little dogs are yappers, the bane of E and I's existence at times).

Must wrap this up.
E is about ready to head out to work, which means its time for me to start my day as well.
Yesterday I watched the entire season of 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl',
which I thought was great - kinda Sex In The City on Viagra.
Billy Piper is smoking hot, and a great actress to boot.
What to watch today...
I tried 'League of Extraordinary Gentleman' and found it oddly amateurish.
Just didn't click.
I could watch some Henry Rollins, he is my inspiration for the voice of Patches,
the puppet bear from the Pookie Puppet Theater.
Speaking of which, you can check out my blog now at...

and my flicker set of the behind the scenes at Pookie Puppet Theater.

Must dash - time to start work!
